Precision Frame Work in Bullhead City, Arizona

1 min read

Structural damage is measured, not estimated by eye. Our Bullhead City auto body shop uses computerized measuring to compare a vehicle's underbody against the dimensions it left the factory with.

How the measurement works

The vehicle is anchored to a bench and reference points across the structure are read electronically, then compared against manufacturer data for that year and model. The output is a set of deviations in millimeters at every control point.

That is a different exercise from looking at a car and judging whether it appears straight. A vehicle can close its doors, track reasonably well, and still sit outside tolerance in a way that changes how it absorbs a second impact.

Correcting it

Where the metal permits, controlled pulls bring the structure back and we re-measure between each one until readings fall inside specification. Where the manufacturer designates a section as replace-only, it gets replaced. Ultra high strength and boron components are heat treated to fail in a designed pattern, and reshaping them with heat quietly removes that property.

Signs to watch for after a collision

Tire wear that appeared suddenly on one edge. A steering wheel sitting off center on a straight stretch of Highway 95. Panel gaps that no longer match from one side to the other. Doors or a hood that need persuading to close. Any impact severe enough to deploy an airbag deserves a look underneath regardless of how the outside appears.

Documentation

Structural work leaves here with before and after readings on paper. That record matters when you sell the vehicle and it matters if the repair is ever questioned.
